Apart from the classic online retail business, Digitec Galaxus AG has also worked as a platform since 2016, on which independent third parties (retailers) can sell their articles under their own name directly to customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Due to their ambitious plans for growth in the framework of the marketplace model, Digitec Galaxus has now begun collaborating closely with Tradebyte and has integrated the SaaS solution TB.Market. It enables seamless access to more than 650 vendors from the Tradebyte pool and supports highly-scalable and fully-automated processes.

With a turnover of CHF 861 million, the online player Digitec Galaxus is number one in the Swiss e-commerce market. In 2017, the company grew more than 19 percent. In Switzerland, Digitec Galaxus is even bigger and more relevant than Amazon. Last year, the fast-growing online company was voted “Swiss E-Commerce Champion” by a Swiss jury. This sustainable success is also represented by the high number of customers: More than one million active customers and over 80 million customer visits in 2017 make Digitec Galaxus number one in Switzerland.

Tradebyte’s marketplace solution TB.Market provides retailers with a scalable “out-of-the-box” platform business. In comparison to many direct connections between retailers and their own systems, there is only one connection to Tradebyte – with potential access to hundreds of brands and retailers. Time-consuming integration processes and technical innovations are professionally accompanied by Tradebyte. That leads to more efficient processes and significantly higher scalability – with a shorter time-to-market.

Via TB.One, manufacturers and retailers can now access Digitec Galaxus and therefore profit from its wide reach and affluent customers in Switzerland. “Collaboration with strong partners in the Swiss market is very important for us. The potential in this region is great, the target groups are affluent and very open for everything online,” says Matthias Schulte, CEO of Tradebyte.

The first connection to Galaxus from Germany was undertaken by jewellery shop Thomas Sabo as a pilot partner at the beginning of December 2017.
