Extending a product range has never been easier! With the help of third-party vendors from the area of home & living, Thalia, the omnichannel book store, is now extending its online product range in Germany. The technological basis for extending this product range is TB.Market from Tradebyte.
With around 300 book stores in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Thalia is the market leader in retail book selling across German-speaking countries. In online book selling, the company is also strong. Thalia lists around nine million articles and would now like to extend this figure with products from the area of living accessories – Thalia.de already includes a living product range of more than 18,000 articles. “Home & Living completes our classic product range, as it has the same target group,” explains Nina Mayerhoff, as Senior Category Manager responsible for extending Thalia’s product range in e-commerce. Therefore, Thalia was looking for a technical solution which is easy to handle and would function smoothly together with Thalia’s SAP system. Nina Mayerhoff explains: “The direct connection of a partner to SAP environments can sometimes be difficult due to technical requirements. Tradebyte, however, has a lot of experience in connecting SAP systems and was the perfect partner for us.” Tradebyte could also help to acquire suitable Home & Living vendors: Several vendors from this area are already customers of Tradebyte and could therefore be connected easily. So far, three partners have been integrated successfully, another three are being implemented at the moment.
With TB.Market, Thalia can now broaden its product range without issue, as well as extending to markets abroad. Thanks to integrated drop shipping, Thalia has no storage risks. The fully-automated handling of data flows is carried out by Tradebyte.
